Early Life & Education

Dr. T. Harigopalan, M.A., LL.B., Ph.D., was born on April 24, 1957, in Kanyakumari District. He completed his schooling in Pazhavilai and Nagercoil, and pursued higher education at S.T. Hindu College, Nagercoil, and The American College, Madurai, Bangalore University and the Kalinga University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. His academic journey built a strong intellectual base and shaped his lifelong commitment to education, discipline, and meaningful contribution to society and national development.

Educational Philosophy & Vision

Dr. T. Harigopalan views education as a revealing journey that extends beyond classrooms and textbooks. He emphasizes the development of character, intellect, and social responsibility, blending scientific thinking with moral and secular values.   • 2 years as Chief Administrator and Project Officer in Adyar Balabrindhavan School (present Bala Vidhya Mandhir).
  • Started the Sunbeam Tutorials in 1988 – 89 (now Learning Point) and Sunbeam School in 1989 – 90.
  • Hr. Sec. School Correspondent for 25 years & Honorary Chairman for 10 years.
  • Spoken English training for more than 5000 govt. school teachers.
  • Motivation Talks to hundreds of Govt. School Headmasters in V.I.T, Vellore.
  • Staff orientation and motivation programs in more than 100 schools.
  • SUN TV Debates, Individual lectures in Various TV Programs in Jaya TV, Raj TV, Pothigai etc.,
  • Lectures in National level English language development programs.
  • Played an active role in the school syllabus regularization works with Dr. Narayanasamy Reddiar, Director of Matriculation Schools.
  • Lectured and interacted with tens of thousands of school youth through the 'Dinamalar Jaithu Kattuvom' programs.
  • Served as the President of the Vellore District Football Association for 2 years.
  • Served as the Vice – President of the Vellore District Athletic Association for 2 years.
  • Practicing Advocate in the High Court of Madras.
  • Served as the President of the Thirupattur District Athletic Association for 1 year.
